A Malongane holiday is the easiest way for South Africans to experience Mozambique. Once there, you eat spicy chicken and just-caught prawns, thank the waiters in Portuguese, buy fresh pão and sip on R&Rs all night long. We’ll be staying at the Club favorite, Malongane, a rustic, very quaint and quiet setting close to all the popular reefs and right on the beach.
We will be staying at South Africa’s best Dive Resort. Situated within the reserve it is geared towards an easy diving Holiday. Aliwal Shoal lies within a marine protected area and runs in a north – south direction on the inner edge of the Mozambiquan current. The Shoal is 1.5km wide, 5 km long and approximately 4 km offshore from Scottburgh. Visibility can vary from average to excellent. The Shoal was formed when sand and other deposits got washed in the ocean from sand dunes in the area, over time they formed a calcium carbonate compound that laid the foundation of this sandstone reef.
