Presentation:
One of the most crucial aspects of being a Divemaster and what I have learnt is how you present yourself. The reason for this is so that the first thought that pops into their head is not bad and so that they can put their trust in you. Same when it comes to equipment. If you have damaged equipment it can make the other divers feel unsafe, thus always maintain and look after your gear.
Briefings:
I have learnt dive briefings provide crucial safety information, including potential hazards, emergency procedures, and specific rules for the dive site. This helps ensure that all divers are aware of how to stay safe underwater. Briefings should also be fun and interactive as this builds camaraderie and makes everyone more relaxed. Briefings also mustn’t be too long as this can make people lose interest and forget or miss vital information .
Logistics:
I have realized as a Divemaster, logistics are very important as when it comes to trips, you are the first person the customers come to when they have any sort of questions. A Divemaster must manage and oversee the distribution of dive gear, ensuring that everything is properly maintained, checked, and ready for use. A Divemaster must organize dive schedules, routes, and site selections based on weather conditions, tides, and diver experience levels
